Meet Olivia Ximines

Olivia is joining us as a first time Crescendo Sing-It- Out Teacher for the upcoming group class session and is excited to meet her students! Her favorite genre of music to listen to is R&B but she loves singing ballads, and upbeat or soulful songs. Olivia has been singing about as long as she could talk. Though she admits that she hasn’t always been good at singing, She didn’t let that stop her!

Olivia’s determination led her to making it into the top 20 on American Idol! Check out this awesome video of one of her Idol performances

When asked what she wants her students to learn in her class besides music, Olivia responded:

“I hope my students learn the skill of being fearless throughout this class. I’m hoping that out of this they learn that it is okay to make mistakes but it’s what you do with those mistakes that will help you succeed. Also that finding that perseverance and drive within themselves will help  accomplish their greatest goals in life.”

Olivia has some advice for parents who are on the fence about investing in their child’s musical education:

“I believe that music is one of the greatest things that unites people together. The art of music is something so intricate and beautiful, that isn’t always the easiest to understand, but starting them young is one of the best investments you can make as a parent. Although I am still young and have a ways to go in life, I am very grateful that my parents took the time to invest in my musical education.”

In addition to singing, Olivia loves dancing, theater/acting, and painting. Her art has created a safe space for her to express herself, and she looks forward to providing her students with a safe place to express themselves as well!
